This year’s FSPS Autumn Conference will focus on an important question for the future of education: what happens when artificial intelligence is no longer perceived merely as a tool, but as a companion?
The 2026 Autumn Conference invites school leaders to explore the opportunities, challenges and responsibilities associated with AI companions in education. The discussion will focus on how schools can make use of AI in ways that remain human-centred, pedagogically meaningful and ethically responsible.
The conference will feature Michael Gerlich, an internationally recognised expert on the impact of artificial intelligence on human judgement and decision-making. Yann Houry from Institut Florimont in Geneva will provide practical insights from the perspective of an FSPS member school. The conference will be opened by FSPS President and National Councillor Gerhard Pfister.
