Annual general meeting 2026

The FSPS’s 2026 General Assembly was held on Friday 8 May 2026 at ipso Bildung in Basel. We were delighted to welcome around 50 representatives from our member schools, as well as guests, to the Bildungszentrum Eulerhof, and we would like to thank all participants for the quality of the discussions.

The meeting was also a time for reflection: we paid tribute to Richard McDonald, former Headmaster of Aiglon College, and to Francis A. Clivaz, founder of the Collège du Léman, as well as to the victims of the tragedy in Crans-Montana. As a gesture of solidarity, the FSPS is providing CHF 18,000 in support to the affected families at Collège Champittet, drawn from its crisis fund.

During the statutory part of the meeting, National Councillor Dr Gerhard Pfister, President of the FSPS, congratulated the AVDEP on its 85th anniversary and presented a contribution of CHF 5,000 to the AVDEP scholarship fund to Eve-Marie Klima, President of the AVDEP. On this occasion, Eve-Marie Klima reported on the AVDEP’s successful involvement in the revision of the Vaud law on private education, which resulted in a balanced and pragmatic legal framework, without unnecessary tightening.

The central theme of the meeting was the keynote address by François Matthey, who discussed ADHD and neurodiversity in the school context, combining in-depth analysis, personal insights and practical suggestions for the classroom.

We would like to thank ipso Bildung, in particular Antje Oeschger and her team, for their warm welcome and meticulous organisation. The setting at the Bildungszentrum Eulerhof  – particularly the fact that the event was held in a movement room – contributed significantly to an atmosphere that was in keeping with the theme of the keynote speech. We would also like to extend our warmest congratulations to ipso Bildung on the occasion of its 150th anniversary.
