Representation of interests
The FSPS is continuously committed to improving the political, economic and legal framework conditions for private schools in Switzerland. In doing so, it supports a differentiated right to free school choice and a pluralism of financing that creates a level playing field between state and private schools. For example, the FSPS successfully campaigns(ed)
- against excessive copyright levies to ProLitteris/suissimage
- against the imposition of VAT on private education
- for higher tax deductions in vocational training and further education
Network and specialist conferences
Exclusive access to several specialist conferences and events with input on current education policy and school organisation topics.
Advice and information centre
Every year, numerous people from Switzerland and abroad seek advice from our advice and information centre in their search for a suitable association school. This office is financed by the association members with the costs of advertising in the private school guide and a contact fee. It goes without saying that we recommend only our association schools to these prospective students without charging the 10% commission of annual school fees that is otherwise customary at private placement agencies.

AHV and family compensation fund EXFOUR
The FSPS has been a founding or sponsoring association of the AHV and family compensation fund EXFOUR since 1966. As a rule, the association members must be affiliated to EXFOUR and settle their social security contributions with it. Excepted from this are those association schools that are entitled to a right to vote due to their membership of several founding or sponsoring associations of different association funds. This applies in particular to schools in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud. The EXFOUR funds aim to support their affiliated member schools and ease their workload at favourable conditions. With balanced contribution rates and additional services, recurring savings can be achieved in terms of comparable services and cash benefits. Mr Michael Berger, EXFOUR-Kassen, 061 206 00 22, michael.berger@exfour.ch, will be happy to provide you with further information.

Scholarships for students at member schools
The FSPS is the benefactor of the Swiss Private Schools Foundation. Every year, this foundation distributes grants totalling over CHF 50,000.00 exclusively to students at member schools. The grant is not paid to the students, but transferred to the member schools, which then reduce the school fees accordingly.
Internet for schools
The FSPS has signed a sponsorship agreement with SWISSCOM for schools to access the internet. SWISSCOM finances broadband access for our members under certain conditions. This leads to considerable cost reductions for our member schools, depending on the broadband access chosen. You can request the documents from the FSPS main office.
Directories of private schools and school search on the FSPS website
Only FSPS member schools have the opportunity to present themselves on the association’s own homepage and to be found using the school search on the FSPS website.
The FSPS maintains the guide Private Schools in Switzerland and the Swiss International School Guide as well as an online platform for holiday courses. Only private schools that are members of the FSPS can be included in these directories. These advertising brochures have a print run of 26,000 and are distributed nationally and internationally.
Swiss Private School Register
As a member of the FSPS, the entry in the Swiss Private School Register is 50% lower than for non-members.
Legal advice for members
Member schools benefit from preferential rates for legal advice (the first 30 minutes are free of charge).
