Quality assurance procedure
The proof of quality required for FSPS membership can be provided as follows:
- External certification by recognised quality assurance systems
- Membership of the Swiss Private School Register
- Internal quality assurance procedure
External certification and membership of the Swiss Private School Register
Those member schools that have obtained external certification or are members of the Swiss Private School Register must submit proof of re-certification to the Main Office of the FSPS when the period of validity of the certification expires. The FSPS Membership Commission maintains a directory of recognised national and international quality systems (see documents below).
Association-internal quality assurance
Member schools that are subject to state supervision or comparable quality control can provide proof of quality as part of the association’s internal quality assurance procedure.
The application form, together with the required enclosures, must be submitted to the Main Office of the FSPS in electronic form or by post, for the attention of the Membership Commission, no later than six months before the current certification expires. The Membership Commission reviews the application and carries out a school visit.
The internal quality certificate is valid for four years. After that, the entire QA process must be repeated.
The costs vary depending on the school’s AHV payroll between CHF 700 and CHF 3,600, plus CHF 1,500 for the school visit (see appendix to the membership regulations).
